Compact substations are self-contained units available in different designs and dimensions and cater for power supply requirements for residential and industrial consumers.
Each unit comprises of three individual main assemblies, and a typical substation would include:
- One hermetically sealed transformer.
- One metal clad high voltage Ring Main Unit.
- One metal clad low voltage distribution panel
Construction
- Metal clad with polyethylene housing or with glass reinforced plastic housing.
- Powder coating with excellent finish.
- Lifting lugs for mounting the substations from the base. Easy assembly.
- Maximum degree of protection-IP43.
High Voltage Switchgear
- SF6 insulated ring main unit circuit breaker/Fused switch.
- Oil insulated ring main unit with fused switch.
- Oil/SF6 insulated isolator.
- Air or vacuum insulated fused load break switch.
Low Voltage Switchgear
- Incoming breaker or isolator up to 3200A (Motorized or manual draw out).
- Outgoing breakers/Fused switches.
- Computerized load monitoring relays (Available on request).
- Instrument transformers/meters from reputable manufacturers.
Transformer
- Hermetically sealed oil immersed transformer with corrugated fins or with radiators, or vacuum cast resin transformer.
Note: For compact substations projects, it is absolutely necessary to provide detail drawings for quotation.
