Founded in 1992 by sole foreign fund, South China Electric, subordinate to South China Group and based in Xiamen, is a specialist manufacturer of various power transformers below 110kV and medium and low voltage switchgear assemblies and VCB. Under its umbrella are South China Electric (Xiamen) Co., Ltd and South China Electric (Quanzhou) Co., Ltd (formerly Fujian Quanzhou Transformer Manufacturing Co., Ltd). The Company has a registered capital of 220 million Hong Kong dollars and an annual output value of over one billion yuan. It is a recommended manufacturer of the products for the national urban and rural power grid transformation and the most important supplier of the products for Fujian power grid transformation, and also an ABB authorized partner.

With the world most advanced fully automatic vacuum casting equipment from German Hedrich and the main equipment for sheet processing from Japan Murata, the Company has been continuously releasing new generation power products characterized by energy conservation, low noise and environment friendliness.

SCE products cover five categories: Dry transformers, oil-immersed transformers, pad-mounted transformers and medium and low voltage switchgear assemblies and vacuum circuit breakers, ring main unit, of which, the transformer products have passed the type-approval test of the National Transformer Quality Supervision & Testing Center, the dry transformers have passed Holland KEMA certification and PCCC certification, the medium switchgear assemblies have passed the type-approval test of the National Transformer Quality Supervision & Testing Center, and the low voltage switchgear assemblies have passed the national compulsory 3C certification.

In recent years, by introducing foreign technologies, the Company has successfully developed domestic first-rate products, including S (B)H15 series amorphous alloy iron core distribution transformers, SCB11 series dry power transformers, SCBH15 series amorphous alloy iron core resin insulation dry transformers, ZQSC (B) series dry traction rectifier transformers for urban rail traffic use, S13 distribution transformer, ZGS series pad-mounted transformers, ZGS-Z D series underground pad-mounted transformers, ZGS-Z (H) F series pad-amounted transformers for wind power, YB series prefabricated transformer substations, XGN series ring main units (RMU), KYN series MID-set switchgears, GCK, GCS, MNS and MD190 low voltage switchgears.

The products have been put into use in Shanghai Expo, Beijing Finance Street, the PLA General Hospital, the 2ND Artillery Corps, Shanghai Pudong New Area, Tianjin Binhai New Area and Xiamen Port and been exported to Southeast Asia, Turkey, Cuba, etc., with their application scope covering armed force, airport, mine, railway, oilfield, tunnel, various power plants, and urban and rural power grid transformation.
